Boca Raton, FL

Our next stop in the South Florida tournament series brought us back to Boca Raton, and we were stoked for another opportunity to compete in our current home state. We hadn’t been able to qualify for the $35k event held at the same site just a week earlier, so getting into this tournament felt like a bonus — and we were ready to make the most of it.

In the Round of 16, we drew a tough matchup against an American duo ranked around #400 and #500 in the world at the time. Despite the challenge, we came out firing and got off to a quick start, grabbing an early lead and holding onto it to take the first set.

In the second set, the momentum started to shift. Our opponents made some smart adjustments to their game plan, and it took us a bit too long to respond. Tennis moves fast, and the ability to adapt in the moment is crucial — something we’re still learning to master. Before we knew it, we were in a deciding third-set tiebreak.

It was a battle, but a few key points made the difference, and we found ourselves on the losing end of a close one, dropping the breaker 6–10. These are the kinds of losses that sting the most — the ones where you’re right there, toe-to-toe with top-tier players, and just a couple of points decide the outcome.

Still, there's a lot to take away from this match. We proved to ourselves once again that we can compete with highly skilled and experienced teams. Every defeat is a chance to grow, and we’re using this one as fuel to keep improving for the tournaments ahead.
